What Is Orthopedic Physical Therapy?
This branch of physical therapy focuses on the problems with respect to the musculoskeletal system (muscles, bones, ligaments or tendons). Physical therapists evaluate, diagnose, treat and manage injuries and diseases that affect the joints and muscles of all types of populations. The primary goal of the orthopedic physical therapist is to help the patient avoid having surgery due to injury and, if surgery is required, to assist in rapid and high-quality rehabilitation.

Learn About Our Anti-Gravity Treadmill for Rehab and Recovery
The Anti-Gravity Treadmill is a unique piece of equipment that allows individuals to walk or run at a lower percentage of their body weight. The Anti-Gravity Treadmill is particularly beneficial for injured athletes, as it can assist in gaining confidence, maintaining cardiovascular condition, as well as reducing the risk of re-injury. It helps the patient complete rehabilitation with less pain.
A physical therapist can help you improve muscle strength and reduce pain naturally, by focusing on the underlying cause of your pain. We can help you
prevent future head and neck pain from recurring. Using various modalities to ease your pain and increase recovery time. These therapies may include electrical stimulation and ultrasound. We will also suggest a combination of manual therapies to help reduce tension in your muscles, stretch the tendons and ligaments in your neck and relieve aches and pains.
How Does It Work?
To use the treadmill, specific shorts must be worn, (generally over the top of shorts or tight leggings) and once the shorts are on, the patient steps inside the chamber of the machine, similar to a large bubble, and is zipped inside. This allows the lower body to be enclosed and supported by the air pressure.
The machine is then calibrated to the patient, and the body support percentage can be adjusted as desired. From there, the treadmill operates similarly to a standard treadmill with speed adjustments for walking or running. Once the device is turned on, its casing gradually fills with air, creating a waist-high bubble, and as the user begins walking, their legs begin to feel lighter, with noticeably less pressure on the joints and less effort for each step.
In the Anti-Gravity Treadmill, walking feels almost weightless, even with increased speed and incline. Even those who dislike exercise due to fatigue or mobility issues find working out on this treadmill to be a pleasant experience, and some even begin looking forward to it.
